Project Overview

Founded in 1871, The Alfred Hospital, is Melbourne’s oldest hospital that is still operating in its original location. 
Over the years AAH has been engaged on numerous occasions to assist in refurbishment works to the hospital, including a large scale project from 2018-2019 that you can find a case study for in the projects area.

East Block

Old Baker Building

Old Monash Building

  • Removal asbestos contaminated vinyl floor tiles
  • Removal of asbestos contaminated adhesive
  • Removal of fire doors

Boiler House

  • Demolition of lift shaft items including floor, doors and frames
  • Assist occupational hygienist in sampling of potentially contaminated materials
  • Removal of general dust and debris
  • Removal of non-asbestos cement sheeting
  • Removal of lead paint back to substrate
  • Repair damaged pipes
  • Removal of asbestos insulation from steam pipes
  • Encapsulation of asbestos pipe insulation

Linay Pavillion

  • Removal of asbestos contaminated vinyl floor, wall, and bench lining

  • Transport & disposal of all waste to EPA licensed facilities
