Project Overview

St Vincent’s Hospital is a major hospital in Fitzroy, Victoria. 

Over the years AAH has been engaged on numerous occasions to assist with refurbishments of St. Vincent’s Hospital. These works have been done across various areas including the Daly Wing, Healy Wing and the Bolte Wing.

Scope of Works

Daly Wing

• Assist occupational hygienist in the sampling of potentially contaminated materials
• Removal of carpet and underlay
• Removal of asbestos contaminated floor tiles
• Removal of asbestos contaminated cement sheeting
• Floor grinding to various areas back to slab ready for reinstatement
• Floor grinding to black asbestos adhesive
• Removal of asbestos lagged piping
• Removal of pipe insulation
• Removal of asbestos vinyl floor tiles
• Removal of asbestos contaminated dust from ceiling spaces
• Removal of damaged plaster ceilings
• Removal of fire doors and frames
• Removal of asbestos contaminated eave sheets
• Removal of asbestos contaminated switchboard doors
• Removal of mastic
• Installation of floor brackets
• Installation of ceiling access hatches
• Minor demolition of existing walls allow access
• Minor demolition of benches and cupboards
• Erection of baffle walls
• Restoration of ceilings
• Sealing of exposed pipes
• Transport & disposal of all waste to EPA licensed facilities

Healy Wing

• Removal of asbestos dust from ceiling spaces
• Removal of asbestos contaminated tiles from floor and walls
• Removal of pipe insulation
• Removal of asbestos contaminated pipes
• Removal of pigeon excrement
• Removal of asbestos render
• Removal of asbestos cement sheet ceiling tiles
• Removal of asbestos cement debris
• Removal of asbestos contaminated vinyl sheets
• Removal of carpet
• Floor grinding to various areas back to slab ready for reinstatement
• Restoration of damaged walls
• Minor demolition of high-level plaster ceilings
• Minor demolition of ceiling grids
• Sealing of exposed render with paint
• Transport & disposal of all waste to EPA licensed facilities

Bolte Wing

• Assist in the sampling of potentially contaminated materials
• Removal of asbestos contaminated concrete sheets
• Removal of asbestos contaminated vinyl floor tiles
• Removal of asbestos contaminated vinyl floor sheet
• Removal of asbestos residue from ceiling space and wall ducts
• Removal of asbestos contaminated flue
• Removal of asbestos contaminated switchboard doors
• Demolition of plaster ceiling
• Floor grinding to various areas back to slab ready for reinstatement
• Sealing of cavities within ceiling space
• Erection of baffle walls
• Transport & disposal of all waste to EPA licensed facilities
